SUMMER LEADERSHIP
AND SKILLS CAMP
IT IS A PROVEN FACT THAT CHILDREN WILL LOSE
AS MUCH AS 2 1/2 MONTHS OF THEIR KNOWLEDGE DURING SUMMER
VACATION!
This is a
leading cause of the United States being ranked 26th overall in
education compared to the rest of the world! Do you want your child
spending another summer vacation in a program that will not stimulate them
mentally and emotionally, as well as
physically?
Are you ready to give YOURCHILD a program that
PUTS
them AHEAD of their
classmates and peers.
Our children are faced with
challenges that frankly were not present just 5 short years ago. The
information age, while revolutionary, has created a flood of information
for our children that we were
NEVER
exposed to at such a young age. Even when we do our best to protect them
from physical harm, as parents, we worry about their emotional and
mental health. We definitely cannot control what type of movies, music,
television and video games other parents are allowing their children
exposure to. However, we can control the type of information we want our
children to assimilate now that will shape their future success.
TIME WITH YOU VS.
TIME WITH OUTSIDE INFLUENCES
Our children spend an
average of 45 minutes
to an hour with us in the morning prior to going to summer school,
summer camp or day care. However, much of this time is spent getting
ready or leave.. In the evening we see them an average of
2-3 hours, again
much of this time is feeding them, completing homework or hopefully
involved in a Professional Life Skills program like ours. We
are also giving them baths, reading to them, getting items ready for the
next day and getting to bed on time.
This is in high contrast with the time they
spend with outside influences, other children, educators and after
school and or summer programs. Many after school and summer programs are
primarily staffed by teenagers who are not trained in proper child
development. Frankly, they are more focused on texting on their phone or
speaking with their co-workers about their personal lives than they are
concerned about the child's well being. Bullying runs rampant and many
times our children suffer a confidence shattering experience.
When you compare the two, they spend an average of
8-11 hours with
outside influences and 2-3 hours with us. It is vitally important that
we provide them a very strong foundation with outside influences that
supplement the message that your are providing at home. A message that
has a strong positive affect on their mental or social well being.
We cannot spend every waking moment smothering
our children, frankly it has an adverse effect on them.
If we do not allow them
to fail, then they will never learn how to bounce back from adversity.
Smothering your child can seriously cripple them emotionally, mentally,
socially and physically.
Social Development is not an easy
process and there is no step by step guide that takes you through the
process. But there are some key Life Skills that if taught properly,
will provide them a very strong foundation. These Life Skills will allow
them to face any challenge and come out stronger on the other end. They
will learn to recognize opportunities that will benefit them
financially, emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually.
SUCCESS SECRETS OF ULTRA SUCCESSFUL
PEAK PERFORMERS
Ultra Successful Peak
Performers like Donald Trump, Oprah Winfrey, Lance
Armstrong, Gene Simmons and every other person that would make this
list, like top scientist, professional athletes, corporate executives...
all have been taught, and are using
PEAK PERFORMANCE SUCCESS
SECRETS. Secrets that you and I never learned growing
up. Many people still have never been exposed to this type of
Peak Performance Life Skills. We Teach Them in our program.

I know that you are wondering, "What Life Skills
are you referring too? Let me just cover one Life Skill that all of
these people possess.
Social
Intelligence, this one Life Skill is recognized by
Harvard
University as the NUMBER ONE Life Skill required to achieve
maximum success.
Social
Intelligence is the ability to communicate with anyone you deal
with, no matter their ethnic, intelligence, social or religious
background.
Social
Intelligence is the ability to get people to do things for them
with very little effort and do it in such a way that gives the person
providing the work does it willingly. Social Intelligenceis the ability to understand time and place. They are always at
the right time and the right place, and you will recognize them within
your own work place as the person who is always rising in the ranks of
the company, always seems to be advancing faster than anyone else, yet
they seem to put in the least amount of effort.
This is just one of the key
success traits that Peak Performers possess. There are many others. They
are all important and a necessity for our children to achieve greater
success than we did growing up.
Our public school system is bound to work
within a box that is geared towards passing the TAKS test. Frankly, this
antiquated system does not allow our children to reach their full
potential or even receive an introduction to Social Intelligence. There
are many Peak Performance Life Skills that will benefit your children's
lives and they do not teach them in school. The great news is, we teach
them at our academy. (More about that in a minute)
The point I am trying to make
is, our children are heavily influenced by people other than their
parents. It is vitally important that we provide them with the necessary
Life Skills to provide them with a very strong, moral, emotional,
physical and mental foundation. If we provide this strong foundation and
the appropriate Success Skills, they will impress you with their
Confidence, Self-Discipline, Self-Esteem and Focus.
Provide them with the Success Skills that Peak
Performers use, they will amaze you with their Leadership abilities.
They will EXCEL in every aspect of their lives.
DON'T WASTE ANOTHER
SUMMER
The Best of Times or the Worst of
Times, What Kind of Summer Will Your Child Have?
Summer time can be a great
experience, but let's remember why summer vacation was even started. It
was designed to allow farmers to harvest their crops during the summer
months. It was never really designed as a vacation for the entire school
population. Most countries around the world do not have a three month
long summer vacation and it is definitely taking a toll on our education
system. Listed below are the specific causes this long vacation is
having on our children and what the education system is doing to combat
it.
Children gain
more
weight during the summer months than they do during the rest of the
year. A recent study by Indiana and Ohio State University, showed most
children gain more weight during the summer months because they are less
active, have little or no structure and have more access to food states
lead author, Sociology Professor, Paul von Hippel. They eat out of
boredom and do not have scheduled exercise. Children who are in camps
have more structure and less opportunities to just walk to the pantry
and pull out junk food to eat.
Children spend an average of
3-5 hours a day watching
television or playing video games compared to 30 minutes
of reading or studying. Another study just released shows that
children between the age of 9-17 are playing video games 40 hours a
week. This study was done during the school year. You can only imagine
how much time they would commit during the summer months. Many day cares
and summer programs allow the children to play video games everyday.
Children lose as much as 2 1/2 half
months of education due to the long summer layoff. As an adult
you understand that you lose what you do not use. This is also another
reason why the United States is ranked 26th in the world in education.
With the financial resources we have, this should never be the case.
This is also another reason why many employers are outsourcing their
work to foreign countries.
The Public School Systems allow 8
weeks of the new school year to get students up to the same education
level they were at the end of the previous school year. This is 8
wasted weeks of relearning the same information they learned in previous
years.
Children get less sleep during the
summer time. Most families get out of a routine they maintained
during the school year. I have been providing child and family
development for more than 20 years and the number one tool for success
in your home is a consistent routine.
There is less structure and general
bad habits are formed that take 30-60 days to turn around once school
starts.
Summer Camps that are really Day
Cares in disguise, the children are not stimulated and they are watched
by high school or college kids. Many day cares are designed for
infant to kindergarten aged children. They are supplementing video games
to keep them entertained, instead of designing a curriculum that is age
specific.
These are just a few of the
examples of what our children are faced with during the summer months.
They are not exposed to programs that will help them maintain what they
have learned through the school year. More importantly they are not
exposed to Peak Performance Life Skills that could
really put them at the HEAD OF THEIR CLASS!
A SOLUTION EXISTS AND IT IS
EASIER THAN YOU THINK!
What if I told you that a NEW,
REVOLUTIONARY, Summer LEADERSHIP CAMP
would empower your children with great CONFIDENCE,
SELF-DISCIPLINE, SELF-ESTEEM, FOCUS, PERSEVERANCE,INDOMITABLE SPIRIT, RESPECT, COURTESY, HUMILITY, INTEGRITY,
HONESTY AND SELF-MOTIVATION.
What if I told you this camp was not just educational, but
FUN!
What if I told you if would start to lay a foundation for
your child that would make them:
UNSTOPPABLE!
Unstoppable in their
pursuit of:.
Learning to stay focused
in school and a desire to succeed
Impervious to Bullying and Negative
Peer Pressure
FIT and HEALTHY
LIFESTYLE: Eating healthy, exercising and preventing themselves
from becoming a 1 in 3 statistic of morbidly obese children in the
United States today
How to identify a threat, not by
their appearance, but by their actions
How to avoid dangerous, negative,
unmotivated and lazy people
CONFLICT RESOLUTION Skills:
Skills that allow your children to resolve conflicts peacefully
and a simple, BUT
overlooked skill...It is the single most important factor in keeping
from being BULLIED following the wrong crowd and we
teach it in our very first class.
STILL NOT CONVINCED, READ WHAT OUR
PARENTS SAY!
"My wife
and I enrolled our daughter Maddie about April or
May of 2005. We brought her here for perceived low
self-esteem, for interaction issues with her peers
at school, and for extracurricular activities
aside from watching TV. Within the first month we
noticed a positive change in her attitude at
school and at home. It is now 17 months later, she
has extremely high self-esteem and any interaction
issues are all but gone. She is seen as a leader
at the Martial Arts Studio and at school. She
is more focused, more energetic and not a couch
potato. She participates in as much as she can and
is willing to help others when they are having
problems with their forms. Peak
Performance Martial Arts has brought
Maddie out of her shell that traditional schools
could not do

When we
enrolled Detrick in Peak Performance Martial Arts
Karate four years ago, we had no specific
expectations, We found a place where Detrick has a
sense of belonging and children show respect to
each other as well as adults. Detrick is small for
his age, but he fears nothing and this is due to
his association with Peak Performance Martial
Arts. We are now preparing for Detrick's upcoming
black belt test, an accomplishment we never really
envisioned when he began martial arts. As the day
of the test approaches, Detrick's excitement
grows. As parents, we can't help but feel a sense
of pride in his sense of self confidence and
determination to succeed in this area. We
appreciate the personal attention Detrick has
received in his training we have never doubted the
instructors" personal concern for Detrick's
well-being and their interest in seeing him
accomplish each goal he sets for himself.

My son
Alex has transformed since join your program. His
self-confidence, self-esteem, and internal
motivation are at the highest I have ever seen. He
feels safe and comfortable at the Karate studio
and looks forward to attending the next class. He
practices his forms and moves each and everyday. I
felt like registering him for karate was the best
decision I could have made for him. He is an
impressionable adolescent and needs a positive
male role model in his life. Thank you for
everything you are providing for my son. This is
exactly what he needed, when he needed it!
Toby Andrade,
Principal, Georgetown ISD
My oldest
son is 9 years old and has ADHD. When we signed my
son up for Karate we were looking for help. He
needed a place to go after school that was safe
and offered the discipline that a "day care" could
not provide, and we found it. He started
at Peak Performance Martial Arts in
September of 2000, the same year he started
Kindergarten, having been kicked out of two day
cares prior to Kindergarten. Immediately after
starting at Peak Performance Martial Arts he
started saying things like "yes sir" and "thank
you" opposed to the fits we were so tired of. He
would even say "thank you" when being punished for
something he had done wrong, granted I thought
this was him being sarcastic. But he wasn't, they
taught him responsibility for his actions. To hear
an instructor say, "When he is on the blue (the
work out mats) he's mine" and know he means it not
like the child is his student but his very own kid
is truly something special. Not only did they
teach him self responsibility, self worth and
respect for everyone and thing around him, but
they taught him to set goals and have helped
provide him the tools to obtain them. So I suppose
the question I would ask any parent considering
PPMA for their kids is "What is your child's
respect and confidence worth to you?" To me that
answer is simple; my baby started this year, his
Kindergarten year. Peak Performance Martial Arts
is more than just Martial Arts, Summer Camp or
After School it is a family.
Tina Baugh,
Nurse, Cedar Park
My two sons Garrison
and Peyton started with Peak Performance Martial
Arts in August of 2006. Since joining the program
there has been a new change in their confidence
level and behavior at school. The are getting
better grades, more active and disciplined. They
have really blossomed at PPMA and I HIGHLY
recommend the program to every family
that wants their children to succeed.
